In this discussion thread, Marianne Skånland tells about a case where adolescent criminals begged the judge in the trial where they were found guilty. They did not beg for reduced punishment. This was what they begged for: “Please, not the CPS. Do not send me to Øvsstunsenteret [CPS institution]. There you get a tail of psychologists and social workers after you, so that you are not able to think a privat thought. And what they are doing is crazy. Please send me to Bergen national prison. There they have sensible people with whom one can talk, like prison guards.”
