As one can read from this article, more than 1,000 German lawyers, judges, prosecutors and other jurists have called on the German lawmakers to ban one of Germany’s largest political parties, Alternativ für Deutschland. The appeal has been organised by the legal assotiation Republican Lawyers’ Association. While the attempt to ban a political party has drawn criticism for being dangerous to democracy, a large number of jurists have chosen to put their name under such a demand.
