“Fast dag med barnevernet” (Regular day with the Child Protection Service) was the headline of an article in Tønsbergs Blad, the largest local newspaper in Vestfold county, on Friday March 26. 2010. For more than one year the CPS has been present at Hof school, a school for children aged 6 – 16 in what is today Holmestrand municipality. Tønsbergs Blad’s journalist writes that Valeria Yanez, who has been the CPS’s contact person at Hof school, is “concerned about fighting the ugly myths that exist about the CPS. She thinks the myths hinder people in seeking aid”.
One does not know which “ugly myths” Yanez has in mind. But how Norwegian authorities behave in CPS cases, constitute a very ugly reality.
