In his book World Without Cancer author G. Edward Griffin marshals the evidence that cancer is a defiency disease – like scruvy or pellagra – aggravated by the lack of an essential food compound in modern man’s diet. That substance is vitamin B17.

The ignorance (or intended ignorance) of this causes each year a large number of unnecessary deaths. In Norway it is illegal to sell apricot seeds, which contain a high amount of vitamin B17 and might prevent cancer, in shops. This because of an allegation that the seeds, which are harmless in small amounts, might cause cyanide poisoning. But private persons ae allowed to import the seeds over the internet.
