Bufetat is the governmental CPS in Norway. This article comments a case where one child was gravely sexually abused by another child at a Child Protection Service institution in Hordaland county. Bufetat and the leadership at the institution decided not to move the abuser or the victim: they vent on living in the same department at the institution for eight months. When the case was publicly known, Bufetat admitted having done a mistake, and that the children should have been separated from each other.
In 2009, the institution reported a whistleblower to the police for breaking the professional secrecy by informing the media about the ongoing sexual abuse. In an internal e-mail on January 19, 2009, Information chief Mirjam Glosvik writes that the regional Bufetat office has reported a possible criminal act to the police.
